The seagrass working group of China headed by SCSIO has finished
the investigation of the seagrass beds in South China since 2002. They have gained
a clear idea of the geographic distribution, species, biomass, productivity, biodiversity
characteristics of seagrasses and the threats suffered by seagrasses, and have established
its GIS, analyzed the causal chain of threats suffered by seagrasses, evaluated
their economic values and compiled the National Report on Seagrasses and Seagrass
Protection Action Plan. [more]
